Sun Property Group Lodges Plans for Vibrant Urban Village in Lane Cove

Sun Property Group has proposed a multimillion-dollar mixed-use development in Sydney’s bustling lower North Shore suburb of Lane Cove.

This site located at 56-60 Burns Bay Road, proposes the demolition of the existing buildings and construction of a development incorporating residential, retail and dining premises to cater to the growing area.

The project has been submitted to Lane Cove Council and will include a commercial tenancy, a retail tenancy, a community space, a restaurant and two residential apartment buildings.

While the site is currently a specific retail precinct anchored by Coles, Sun Property Group general manager Cameron Johnson told The Urban Developer the group’s intention is to harness the site into a precinct that “taps into the urban village”.

The retail lobby, community space lobby, residential "building A" lobby as well as the proposed restaurant all have direct access from Burns Bay Road. Pedestrian access to residential "building B" is proposed from Sera Street.

Designs for the project were carried out by a-plus design group.

Sun Property Group acquired the Lane Cove site, which sits 100 metres from the centre plaza and direct access to public transport, in late 2017.

Johnson said the significant land holding is within one of Sydney’s most vibrant urban village.

“Lane Cove is undergoing an urban renaissance with opportunities for new business, transport and homes a key focus of the area.

“We very much look forward to what the future holds for Lane Cove and its community.”
